ANAP group seminar

Kinetic models have been widely studied and applied in the last decades in order to model systems composed of many interacting particles/agents. The applications concern several different disciplines: economy, opinion dynamics, epidemiology, biology, medicine, and so on. Analytical and numerical aspects are of growing interest for the researchers.

In this seminar, some kinetic frameworks will be introduced and described, by discussing main properties and results. In particular, the microscopic state is characterized by a real variable, called activity, which attains its values in a discrete or continuous real subset, in dependence on the particular application. Since the introduction of proliferative/destructive rates and external force action is mandatory for a more realistic modeling, nonconservative frameworks will be presented, with related problems. Future research perspectives will be discussed.
